Sweet Nothings Cotton Candy flips the script of a cloudy forecast and instead of rain these fluffy clouds are raining down sugary goodness. Three unique packages feature different gourmet flavors that correlate with the time of day of the forecast. The icons depicting the flavors are bigger than the landscapes to relay the fact that the flavors are larger than life.
These handmade boxes feature cloud cutouts to reveal the 6 cotton candy packages inside.
Today it’s fruit, tonight it’s drinks, tomorrow it’s dessert!
The Process
During the brainstorming process I focused on the cloud aspect of the product and trying to incorporate them in different ways. These thumbnails depict the top 3 concepts.
The original rough package design included puddles beneath the rainclouds and panels of solid color. Ultimately the decision was made to incorporate a color scheme to each package variation instead. The inclusion of white space allowed for better contrast between the package and the cotton candy displayed in the cloud cutouts.
